Zhetang Subdistrict lies in the north of Lishui District and shares its administration with the Nanjing Lishui Economic Development Zone. Zhetang Town was abolished and reconstituted as a subdistrict in July 2015. Administrative history

In July 2015 the provincial government approved the abolition of Zhetang Town and the establishment of Zhetang Subdistrict over the same area, its office at 8 Tuanshan West Road. The approval was issued on 15 July 2015.
