Shitouzhai Village

Traditional village listing

The list reprinted on the provincial housing department's website on 23 March 2023 records that the Jiangsu section of the sixth batch of Chinese traditional villages includes "Shitouzhai Village, Baima Town, Lishui District, Nanjing". The batch was published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other departments on 20 March 2023.

A district government report separately states that Shitouzhai Village "entered the sixth batch of Chinese traditional villages in October 2022". That is the date of public notice, not of publication, and any citation must say which is meant.

Relation to the settlement within it

Lixiang, within Shitouzhai Village, entered the first batch of traditional villages of Jiangsu in April 2020. The two stand to each other as an administrative village and a settlement within it, both in Baima Town, and have separate entries.

Points of doubt

• The date of founding, the origin of the name and surviving structures of Shitouzhai Village are not recorded in the sources held here.
• Whether Shitouzhai Village also appears on the provincial list of traditional villages of Jiangsu is not recorded in the sources held here; this library has made separate entries only for the two listings that the sources attest.
